Description
The STIHL MS 151 TC-E is built for the kind of work where control and handling matter most: crown work, pruning and tree maintenance tasks where you need a saw that feels light, predictable and easy to manoeuvre. STIHL specifies it for trained arborists, and the top-handle design is made for use in the tree by professionals.
Power comes from a 23.6 cm³ engine producing 1.10 kW (1.50 hp), with a very low powerhead weight of 2.6 kg (without guide bar and chain). That combination makes it a strong option for long sessions aloft, especially when you’re repositioning constantly and making lots of controlled cuts.
The TC-E is also set up to be quick and straightforward to use. STIHL ErgoStart is designed to reduce the effort needed at the starter cord, and the manual fuel pump reduces the number of starting strokes, which is particularly helpful after breaks in use.
For day-to-day practicalities, you get side-mounted chain tensioning for easier adjustments, tool-free fuel caps for quick refuelling, and a service-friendly air filter system for simpler cleaning. There’s also a compensator system to help keep performance more consistent as the air filter loads up, plus STIHL’s anti-vibration system to make the saw more comfortable to hold over time.
